Publisher Mirchandani ranks on Pride Power List 2011
Publishing director at Atlantic Books and Aravind Adiga’s editor, Ravi Mirchandani, has ranked 29 on the Pride Power List 2011.
The Pride list which names the most influential LGBT people in the UK, was announced on 20 June in the lead up to Pride London, and is compiled by the publishers of the official Pride London magazine.
Publisher Linda Riley explains, “the list celebrates those who have contributed through their work to the LGBT community and/or have influence on the LGBT community by being inspirational role models.”
This comes after Mirchandani ranked 58 on the Independent’s similar annual Pink List last year.
Mirchandani handled the award-winning Indian author, Aravind Adiga’s debut novel The White Tiger, as well as his most recent book Last Man In Tower.
Mirchandani said of Adiga’s latest work: “[It's] very recognisably by the same writer, but he [Adiga] has really developed and moved on. It’s an ambitious novel with a large cast of characters, structurally complex in a way his first book wasn’t so much, and he’s really pulled it off.”
