
Amit Chaudhuri
Amit Chaudhuri is – according to the Guardian – “one of the leading novelists of his generation.” He is also an internationally acclaimed essayist and musician.
Amit has won the Commonwealth Writers Prize, the Encore award, the Los Angeles Times Book Prize and the Sahitya Akademi award. He is Professor of Contemporary Literature at the University of East Anglia and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature. He was one of the judges of the Man Booker International Prize 2009.
His latest book, The Immortals, is his fifth novel and was the Critics Choice Best Book of 2009 for The New Yorker, The Boston Globe and The Irish Times.
