
Anita Sethi
Anita Sethi is an award-winning journalist, writer and broadcaster who has written for many national and international newspapers and magazines including The Guardian, Observer, The Independent, Independent on Sunday, The Daily Telegraph, Sunday Telegraph, The Sunday Times, The National, New Statesman, Granta, and Times Literary Supplement.
In broadcasting she has appeared as a guest critic and commentator on several shows including the BBC’s Richard Bacon Show, Simon Mayo Show, the World Today, and Up All Night. She has interviewed many leading cultural figures and worked as a critic, columnist and feature writer. South Asian writers she has interviewed include Vikram Seth, Shobhaa De and Salman Rushdie.
She was awarded a Travelling Fellowship from the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust and has written dispatches from around the world including many parts of South Asia; her adventures include walking across the border of India and Pakistan, travelling under military escort through the vast Baluchistan desert, flying over Mount Everest, and exploring Indian Ocean regions of the Maldives, Kerala and Mombassa. She has appeared as a guest chair and presenter at events including the Hay Festival, Oxfam Bookfest, Folkestone Book Festival, Jonathan Cape Poetry Day, and Southbank Centre.
She is recipient of a Penguin/Decibel Prize, Arts Council Writing Award, has been published in several anthologies including From There to Here, Roads Ahead and The Book Club Bible, and is currently working on a novel.
