
Bhavit Mehta
Bhavit studied Biological Sciences at Queen Mary, University of London, and worked at UCL before entering the world of children’s books in 2007 when he started his independent publishing house, ‘Saadhak Books’.
Taking inspiration from tales by his grandparents, his first picture book Laghu the Clever Crow was published in 2009. He has significant experience of major event management within the Indian community, having worked in planning with the GLA for ‘Diwali at Trafalgar Square’ events. He is an advisor to the British Centre for Literary Translation and works with the ‘International Board on Books for Young People’. Bhavit also works with the Society of Young Publishers, a not-for-profit organisation for students and publishers in the book industry. He is a Director of the DSC South Asian Literature Festival.
