Pawas Bisht

Pawas Bisht is a PhD student at the Culture and Media Analysis Research Group (Department of Social Sciences) at Loughborough University. His work examines the memorialisation of the Bhopal gas disaster.

Prior to undertaking his PhD studies, Pawas taught film production (2007-2009) at the AJK Mass Communication Research Centre, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. Alongside teaching he worked as a documentary filmmaker, primarily on independent projects including work commissioned by Channel 4 (UK), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Global Environment Facility (GEF) and Doordarshan, India’s national broadcaster. He has also had a stint at Sesame Street (India) as a producer of documentary shorts for children. His work has been telecast on Channel 4 (UK), CNBC-TV18 (India), DD National, DD News and POGO.
