
Sarnath Banerjee
Sarnath Banerjee is an Indian graphic novelist, artist, and film maker. After getting a degree in biochemistry, he received an MA in Image and Communication from Goldsmiths College, University of London.
His first novel, Corridor (2004), published by Penguin Books, India, was widely regarded as India’s first graphic novel. His second novel, The Barn Owl’s Wondrous Capers, was published in 2007. Sarnath has also provided illustrations for novels by other authors. He designed the cover for Upamanyu Chatterjee’s novel, Weight Loss.
He is the co-founder a publishing house, Phantomville, that exclusively publishes graphic novels. Sarnath has been awarded the 2008 Best Young Publisher Award by the British Council.
He was born in Calcutta and lives and works in Delhi.
