Smita is the Chairperson and Treasurer of Vaani, a platform she initiated for Asian women writers to meet, and exchange and share ideas. She has a First Class Masters degree in English Literature and a variety of experiences of working in the City at various levels. She currently teaches a Postgraduate class in a London college. She writes short stories and novels, and believes that Asian women writers need to be encouraged and given opportunities to be heard.
