A stirring documentary about the survivors of the world’s worst industrial disaster, the 1984 Union Carbide gas leak in Bhopal, India.

Van Maximillian Carlson’s ‘Bhopali’ brings to jarring life the ongoing suffering and fight for legal justice faced by victims. The documentary weaves together historic accounts, official statements and records along with heart-breaking human stories.

In this first public screening of the film in the UK, the event will be followed by a panel discussion, moderated by Mick Brown, examining the ongoing efforts by campaigners, including moving portrayals in both fiction and journalistic writing, to bring those responsible to justice.

The evening will conclude with a drinks reception hosted by the CREAM Ceramics Research Centre of the University of Westminster.
